Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Sabahattin Kalkan VPS Backup handles Google Drive access and the operational data included in the private backup workflow.

Last updated: 9 September 2026

1. What this application is

Sabahattin Kalkan VPS Backup is a private operational backup system used by Sabahattin Kalkan to protect systems and project data running on a managed VPS. It is not a public consumer service and it does not sell access to a public user account.

2. Data the application handles

The backup workflow handles only the data needed to operate and restore the configured VPS backup. Depending on the configured backup scope, this can include:

  • Google account and OAuth authorization metadata needed to connect the selected backup account.
  • Project files, deployment configuration, server configuration, Docker volumes, mail service data, logs, and backup manifests present in the configured VPS paths.
  • Operational records such as backup status, snapshot identifiers, integrity results, and restore-test results.

3. How Google Drive data is used

The application uses Google Drive to create, read, update, and maintain the encrypted backup repository it uses. The current repository is stored under Sabahattin-Kalkan/VPS-Backups/srv1148213. The Drive connection is limited to the files the application uses for this backup workflow.

Before transfer, the backup data is packaged and encrypted by Restic. The server keeps the OAuth configuration and recovery material in root-only protected locations. We do not sell Google data, use it for advertising, or use it to build an unrelated profile.

4. Storage and retention

The encrypted repository is stored in Google Drive. The current retention policy keeps up to 7 daily, 4 weekly, 12 monthly, and 3 yearly snapshots. Older snapshots may be removed by the repository retention process. A restore test is run into a separate temporary location so the live system is not overwritten.

Google may process data according to its own terms and privacy policy. Our use of Google Drive is limited to the backup purpose described here.

5. Sharing and access

Access is limited to the authorized account owner and the server operator responsible for this private system. We do not intentionally disclose the backup repository to advertisers or unrelated third parties. Access may also be processed by Google as the storage provider.

6. Your choices

The authorized Google account owner can revoke the application’s access from Google Account security settings. A backup repository or account connection can then be removed through the operational controls after confirming that a safe replacement or retention decision exists.

7. Changes and contact

This policy may be updated when the backup scope, storage provider, or data handling changes. The date at the top records the latest revision.
